Position of Director, Board of Directors Regional Tourism Organization 12 (RTO 12)
The deadline for nominations and applications to fill vacancies on our Board of Directors is 12 p.m. April 15, 2015.
RTO12 is seeking volunteers to sit on the Board of Directors and contribute to the development and supervision of its strategic vision and support the tourism interests of Algonquin Park, Almaguin Highlands, Muskoka and Parry Sound. The Board of Directors invites volunteers who have a commitment to regional tourism efforts, a knowledge of and passion for the tourism industry, and an interest in becoming an active participant in RTO12 matters.

After running 7 editions of the successful Fuel & Fun package, the Board of Directors of RTO12 recognizes that this “tipping point program” continues to be an important one for bolstering shoulder season travel. To that end, the Fuel & Fun program is scheduled to run again in Fall 2016.

2016-2017 promises to be a seminal year for RTO12.
After five years in operation, RTO12 has achieved sound foundational success in all of its core initiatives. The time has therefore come for the organization to introduce new projects that are intended to substantially increase the amount of visitation to the region and to foster true destination development, for the benefit of all tourism stakeholders.
The Group of Seven Outdoor Gallery’s “self-guided mobile tour” is a unique concept in tourism, putting the guide function into the hands of anyone interested in iconic Canadian art (presented in a totally different way), who also has a tablet or phone handy. A microsite that highlights not only the replica paintings and the communities where people will find them, it also highlights additional attractions, accommodations and dining establishments in the vicinity of each painting.
