RTO12 is now exploring Fiscal 22/23 Partnerships

Since 2013, in addition to providing its core funding, the Ontario Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries has allocated specific additional funds for the Regional Tourism Organization (RTO) to partner with tourism stakeholders on projects that align with the strategies and objectives identified in the RTO’s annual Business & Operational Plan (BOP).  RTO12/Explorers’ Edge has administered over 200 successful partnerships region-wide since the inception of the additional funding.

LGBT+ Diversity and Inclusion for the Tourism Industry

In partnership with the Canada’s LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce, Explorers’ Edge presents an in person workshop Wednesday April 27, 2022 at the Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing in Parry Sound, Ontario.  The workshop is designed to help tourism-based businesses learn about LGBT+ inclusion and how to effectively understand, value and serve LGBT+ customers and employees.

2022 Call for Nominations

RTO12/Explorers’ Edge is one of 13 regional tourism organizations (RTOs) funded by the Ontario Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism & Culture Industries.

The RTO12 catchment includes six subregions: Algonquin Park, the Almaguin Highlands, Loring-Restoule, Muskoka, west Parry Sound, and South Algonquin.

The region is located on the traditional lands and waterways of the Algonquin, Anishinabek, Mohawk and Metis peoples, and is part of the Robinson-Huron and Williams Treaties territory.

Applications are now open for tourism business owners or general managers to join the RTO12 Board of Directors.
